We went here for a New Year's Eve dinner! The drinks were amazing! We got a goat cheese appetizer which was 10/10! Food was filled with flavor as well! Overall a really great place to check out. The only thing was the prices were pretty high for their more average food.

First time to the 1855 Saloon. Although expecting a real saloon (swinging entry doors, large mirror behind the bar, sawdust & dirt on the floor), the feel was excellent. Service at the bar was fantastic: quick & entertaining, knowledgeable & efficient bartenders (Madyson & Makenzie (?)) serving delicious adult beverages . Food was excellently prepared and a good portion size. Made a fun evening. Thanks

Never heard of the place , my friend said " stop here" sat at the bar , ordered a prime rib sandwich and it was up quickly and it was delicious . The bartender was on point and very informative, he was tipped well because of it . The ambiance is very versatile as it could be a great date place or family outing . The patio can be perfect for a group of guy just wanting beers and watching a game

We met our brothers and sister-in-laws for dinner on Thursday. Loved sitting in the screened-in porch. Drinks and dinner and lots of time to catch up on family news. Everyone had different meals and everyone loved the food. The scallops were fabulous. The chicken parmesan was so big, my husband couldn't finish it. Salads and soups were great as was the rest of the entrees. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We've dined here many times over the last year and each experience has been outstanding. I'm not sure why they received mediocre reviews because the food, service, take out, Mother's Day brunch, New Year's Eve menu have all been outstanding! Definitely one of our favorite places to go for lunch, dinner and special occasions!

Don't know why I haven't reviewed 1855 before, sat out on the enclosed patio and it was cozy and scenic. We had the Friday fish fry, the fish , clam chowder fries and coleslaw were great and the staff was also pleasant! Never had a Manhattan before and it kicked my but, 1 and done!

We had an event to go to in Cottage Grove and drive past 1855 so much, we decided we needed to try it! You would NEVER guess how gorgeous it is inside, just by looking at the building. You follow the boardwalk to get seated by the hostess. They have the cutesy butcher paper table topper, and a simple and sweet menu. The price point is very average for a nicer establishment, but if you were expecting bar pricing, you may have a little sticker shock. But there are cheaper options as well. My husband lives for Buffalo chicken wraps. He said the sauces seemed a little off, but it could've just been that they were made in house and not what he's used to. My pesto flatbread was DELICIOUS. I even asked for an extra side of pesto aioli. Instead of a side, I opted for a side salad. It was so-so but they really played it up with shaved Parmesan. They did have some pretty brood cheese curds too! Lots of great options, it was hard to make a choice. I'm sure we will be back, since we are always passing by.
